Records were collected and preserved by Lynne Thornburg to document Gert Beadle's life and work. One file was passed to Thornburg by Noreen (Lavoie) Dunbar. Records donated to the Archives, March 2026.
Scope and content
Records consist of copies of Gert Beadle's work, and material about her. Photographs, news clippings, autobiographical writings, letters. There are 5 cassette tapes recording interviews and discussions between Beadle and poet Mary Billy.
Material was assembled by Lynne Thornburg over a long period, with plans to write a book about Beadle's life and work. Many print materials have been transcribed to digital format.
