As required by our terms of reference, we have examined and assessed the need for child care and parental leave in Canada, as well as federal government’s role in the development of a national system of quality child care. The Task Force members owe a debt of gratitude to the researchers who prepared the technical studies upon which we based many of our individual Canadians who took the time to share their views with us.
