Belton, chairman, Graduate Studies Committee, Lakehead University Library regarding a request from Dr. M.A. Preston to act as consultant for his committee of the Ontario Council on Graduate Studies (OCGS) in appraising the Master of Arts MA programme in History at Lakehead University.

Lists members of the Senate Library Committee, meeting minutes. Topics include library space, loans policy/borrowing privileges, newly hired librarians, new research Centres for Health Resources and Social Science, borrower-identification card.

Series consists of inter-university correspondence in the area of cooperation between the provincially-assisted universities to create a provincial library system in Ontario. Meeting minutes, reports, budget and salary surveys, task forces, questionnaires and cooperative projects include inter-university transit system, computerized cataloging, government documents project and cooperative union serials system.
Correspondence also includes telex messages with related societies and organizations.

Series consists of administrative files held by the Principal and Office of the Chief Librarian including faculty council minutes and correspondence, reports, policies and budgets created by the Academic Senate and its various committees. Also includes correspondence created by affiliated agencies.
Topics include proposed programs, enrollment, admission requirements, space allocation, governing post-secondary education and capital grants for future buildings and an ambitious five year plan.

Meeting minutes from Graduate Studies Committee on departmental proposals for course/degrees, new university research program in regional development. Correspondence dealing with graduate students, such as numbers, re-submission fee for theses, admissions application forms, regulations governing Ph.D degree and preservation and availability of graduate theses.

Minutes of University Committee meetings includes members of Alma Mater Society (AMS) and Student Athletic Society (SAS). Some of the topics discussed were related to shopping mall, parking, student fees, mental health services, day care and student representation on Senate.
