Lake Nipigon Specimen Cards

Cards from an observation project at Lake Nipigon. Arranged by species name, each card contains a list of locations where that species was observed.

General

Subseries: General records from the Amerikan Laulajat. The records derive from the Amerikan Laulajat organization, an umbrella organization for Finnish Male Choirs, and their various internal actions from 1956-2001, including by-laws, membership, publications, newspaper clippings and history. The Amerikan Laulajat organization holds at least ten minimum choirs in North America, and as hosted several Finnish choirs touring North America. The records are arranged by activity and are further arranged chronologically.

1988 Tour

Subseries: Multi-media records detailing the sixth concert tour of Finland in 1988. Various mediums of records exist in the subseries, including but not limited to: Correspondence, photographs, programs, cassettes and newspaper clippings. Approximately 386 photographs exist in the subseries.

Awards, certificates, and other tokens of accomplishment and appreciation given to Margaret Phillips over her life time.

Personal Correspondence

Correspondence between friends and family members including Margaret Phillips' Aunt Janet Riley, Aunt Ruth Fuller, and other family members.

Personnel

Textual documents dealing with the people involved with LUF and one digital video of the ordination of Julie Stoneberg in 2005. Information on employees, volunteers, and membership. The services were mostly run by lay chaplains, though they also welcomed visiting and consulting ministers. Information dealing with the interim ministry program, hiring processes and employment contracts, membership lists, and board membership lists are found here.

Sunday Services

Order of service materials. Textual documents and art. The LUF was only able to meet on a regular and consistent basis after they got their own building, before then then they met usually only once a month at various locations that were often announced a few weeks before the date of service. Order of service booklets vary.

Radio and Publicity

These folders contain radio broadcasts delivered by C.C.F. leaders and by Robinson during election campaigns, and at other times, as well as general C.C.F. publicity.

Federal Affairs 1957-1963

These folders contain material relating to Douglas Fisher's election campaigns and his political activities as M. P. for Port Arthur Riding. There is also a folder relating to the formation of a New Party, co-sponsored by the C.C.F. and the Canadian Labour Congress, out of which was formed the New Democratic Party, 1959. Material of local and national origin is included.

Hydro

These files contain considerable material relating to municipal affairs, as much of the material relates to Port Arthur's relationship with the Ontario Hydro-Electric Power Commission (HEPC) and the Political controversies surrounding the HEPC's projects at Aguasabon and Rat Portage in which Robinson contended the HEPC favoured paper companies over municipalities.
