University Faculty Association

Committee meeting minutes regarding proposed revisions to Faculty Handbooks, affiliation of the Teacher’s College, code of ethics, broadcasting in Northwestern Ontario, student-faculty get-togethers, course evaluations, promotion and tenure. Food services in Faculty lounge on a trial basis. Also includes discussion on the position of librarians within the Faculty Association and the establishment of a Lakehead University Faculty Club.

Other Libraries & Library organizations

Inter-library loan forms from 1966-1969. A second folder, Committee of Presidents of Universities of Ontario (CUPO), 1966-69, includes circuletters on varied topics such as Spinks Commission report, library development, creation of a Council of Universities of Ontario (COU) and committee reports. Also includes some correspondence dealing with Ontario Council of University Librarians (OCUL) an affiliated of Committee of Presidents of Universities of Ontario (CPUO).

Papers, Minutes, etc. folders

Minutes from April 1968 backwards; April 1969. Correspondence includes minutes and reports on H. Duncan Wall’s consultant report, Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) Bibliographic Centre Project and possible functions and services of a bibliographic centre in Ontario. Also includes a draft copy of Initial System Design for the Ohio College Library Center by Frederick G. Kilgour, director. Some materials marked as “Confidential”.

Notices to staff

Memos on new staff, season tickets to athletic contests, summer hours/schedules, residence housing, Lakehead Film Society, Lakehead University Faculty Association (LUFA), Lakehead University Charity Fund Committee, banking services on campus and parking regulations. Lakehead University’s Audio-Visual Department in conjunction with CKPR present Montage, a 15 minute-program featuring interviews with members of teaching staff, student body, and administrative staff. Also includes an entry form for Lakehead University school song contest, a notice of a special meeting to discuss the integration of Teacher’s College and election procedure and faculty office space. Trevor Page memorial fund was initiated. In 1967 the University Library became a full depository for all Canadian Government publications as per the Queen’s Printer.
