This file contains information about conversion funds for existing commercial child care spaces to become non-profit. Included in the file is correspondence with the Honourable Marion Boyd, Minister of Community and Social Services; newspaper articles detailing response of private day cares; and news releases for support from child care advocates. The file also includes the paper "Toward a High Quality Child Care System in Ontario: Why Commercial Child Care is not the Way to Go" from the OCBCC; a response from United Voices for the Fair Treatment in Child Care; "kids not cash - Non-profit Child Care" information package from the Ontario Federation of Labour; with NWORDCC fact sheets in association with OCBCC. The file also holds a cassette tape entitled "Great Northwest Day Care Centres non-profit/profit" from December 4, 1991.

Coalition- Current

This file contains information from the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care including Council Meeting minutes; membership and Ministry listings; correspondence for support and action; response to the Direct Operating Grant implementation; Coalition conference reports, lobby and resolutions; with surveys and polls. Political party responses to OCBCC questionnaire are included in the file with summaries of childcare issues in Ontario and responses.
