Candidate Protected Areas Boreal West Planning Region Produced by the Partnership for Public Lands for the Boreal West Round Table. The map reflects Partnership endorsement of the candidate protected areas proposed by BWRT members Bruce Petersen and Bruce Hyer. Input from the Boreal West Natural Heritage Workshop held in January 1998, and changes resulting from comments and additional information about the Partnership's “Preliminary Candidate Protected Areas” [May 24, 1998], assisted in the refinement of the candidates. The proposed boundaries are approximate. Date - May 25, 1998. Lands for Life is a regional land - use planning process. None of the designations proposed should affect or prejudice in any way the rights of claim of First Nations, matters that will be resolved over time, on a government - to - government basis.
