Surveys

This series consists of child care surveys done by the Northwestern Ontario Regional Child Care Committee. Surveys gave provision to child care centres and staff to share information about their community, name of centre, survey respondents, and centre's programs. Surveys provided information about the fees, licencing, subsidies, operating budget/deficit, capital budget, and operating grants. Statistics for staffing/wages/qualifications; overview of benefits, recruitment, and pay equity; and operations, program/policy changes shared important information for advocacy for the future plans, and concerns for child care centres across Northwestern Ontario.

Surveys - 1990

This file contains a collection of documents with letter addressed to the Ministry of Community and Social Services (1990-01-02) regarding the NWORDCC mandate, plans for a 1990 Forum, funding request, and financial statement. Copies of the "Report of the Weighting Factor Research Project", Report of Survey Update 1990, and 1990 Survey are included. The agreement between NWORDCC and Ministry of Community and Social Services for funding 1990; Request letters from the NWORDCC to child care centres; Survey Update 1990, and a copy of the Report on Northwestern Ontario Day Care Services from the Update 1990 are in the file as well.

This file contains a letter to N.W.O. Day Care Services Survey Respondents from Margaret Phillips with attached summary report of the 1993 Day Care Services Survey (1994-07-04); notations and contact information for send outs; updated letter from NWORDCC to N.W.O. Day Care Supervisors/Administrators to complete survey (1994-03-16); listings of surveys sent; and letter of notice for the amended 1992 survey sent to Supervisors/Administrators to complete survey (1994-02-10). This file contains a Letter of Agreement between Northwestern Ontario Regional Child Care Committee and Barbara Lysnes and Margaret Phillips to conduct a survey of the Northwestern Ontario child care programs; in concert with the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care, information serves both the Northwestern Ontario Regional Child Care Committee and the Coalition.
