The LUF held their first several meetings in the homes of the Board members. As they grew and became a larger community, they started meeting at local centers and renting out halls. Finally, in 1984 they moved to their own building on Algoma St. The building was adequate, but was not the ideal location since it had poor accessibility and required constant upkeep. From the 1990s up until the late 2010s the LUF regularly discussed the prospect of a new building and sought new ways to better the Algoma building.

Subseries: Sheet music, song lyrics, and general music information from the Amerikan Laulajat Organization. The contents in this subseries were created from 1964 through 1996. The music arises from several different male choirs under the Amerikan Laulajat.

Subseries: The subseries consists of textual and graphic records pertaining to the Amerikan Laulajat's second Finnish Concert Tour of 1964. The documents range in type, from programs, to schedules, to photographs.

This series consists of news clippings that have been collected from the 1960s through to 2018. The articles relate to all aspects of Lakehead University, including but not limited: to sports, students, faculty, Lakehead University events, and other topics that relate to Lakehead University or the Alumni Association of Lakehead University. The news clippings come from Lakehead University publications such as the Agora, the Argus, or the Lakehead Review, and from Thunder Bay papers such as The Chronicle-Journal.

Things which belonged to Margaret Phillip's Aunt Janet Riley, Aunt Ruth Fuller, Cousin Margaret Fuller, and other family members. Included, also, are things from Phillips' childhood and early life.

A collection of promotional materials for Lakehead University. The material ranges from general promotion of the university, program and course specific, spring and summer courses, graduate and doctorate programs, event promotions, and materials for students and graduates of Lakehead University. The majority of the materials are posters and information booklets. There is also materials relating to convocation ceremonies ranging from 1963 to 2017.

Subseries: Textual records of Finnish Choirs performing in America and their relationship to the Amerikan Laulajat. The majority of the subseries is correspondence, and some of the notable choirs include Male Choir Days and Poor Knights. Photographs are also included.

A collection of photographs of different faculty members and events throughout the decades of Lakehead University staff and faculty. Many of the people depicted are unidentified.

File arrangement reflects original order: as part of the history project, the past Newsletters were ordered chronologically and ordered into binders. They include information typical of any newsletter: the month ahead, notes from the president, and general updates. The original arrangement was not disturbed while the binders were replaced with folders. It appears the newsletters were sent out electronically after 2012.

Subseries: Records detailing meeting minutes of the Amerikan Laulajat, an umbrella organization for Finnish Male Choirs in North America, ranging from 1960-1997. The meeting minutes are derived from the various locations of the Amerikan Laulajat, and are arranged chronologically throughout the subseries.

Order of service materials. Textual documents and art. The LUF was only able to meet on a regular and consistent basis after they got their own building, before then then they met usually only once a month at various locations that were often announced a few weeks before the date of service. Order of service booklets vary.

Textual documents, pamphlets and brochures, and 2 digital videos received from the CUC, one being labeled “UUA 2010 Breakthrough Congregation” and the other “Fusion;” both are promotional videos for the Unitarian Universalist denomination.

The Canadian Unitarian Council was a national group formed within the continental Unitarian Universalist Association in 1961. They were interconnected corporations until 2002 when they split into independent organizations. The LUF hosted the CUC Annual General Meeting in 1986, 1997, and 2009. The CUC/UUA head office and other organizations within the UU society provided direction and guidance to the LUF when they were establishing themselves and when they became an incorporated fellowship. Mostly materials viewed and used by the board members and committee chairs. Majority of materials pertain to the AGMs and other conferences; not LUF specific.
