1956 Tour

Subseries: Records from the Amerikan Laulajat Organization in 1956, detailing various aspects of the 1956 tour of Finland, including tour schedules, finances, newspaper clippings and photographs. This was the first tour of Finland conducted by the Amerikan Laulajat.

1992 Tour

Subseries: Textual, graphic, and sound recording records from the Amerikan Laulajat's seventh concert tour of Finland in 1992. The materials come in many forms, including but not limited to: correspondence, photographs, programs and cassettes.

Photographs and Albums

Photographs and albums from Margaret Phillips' family and friends varying in date from sometime before the 1920's to 2015. Dates on folders are inferred as the majority of the photos are unlabeled or undated, with some exceptions.

Child Care

Correspondence, documents, and reference material regarding child care and day care policy and developments.

Scrapbooks and Photographs

Photographs and news clippings illustrating the student and faculty experiences in the School of Library Technology. Material is from one large scrapbook (kept intact but with loose items separated) and one photo album binder (separated into individual photographs and sheets.)

Property

The LUF held their first several meetings in the homes of the Board members. As they grew and became a larger community, they started meeting at local centers and renting out halls. Finally, in 1984 they moved to their own building on Algoma St. The building was adequate, but was not the ideal location since it had poor accessibility and required constant upkeep. From the 1990s up until the late 2010s the LUF regularly discussed the prospect of a new building and sought new ways to better the Algoma building.

Lands and Forests

The forestry controversy was a major issue during Robinson's career as legislator. The folders concern the Kennedy Commission (1946), Robinson's brief on behalf of the C.C.F. to same, the battle between lumber and paper companies, as exemplified by Great Lakes Lumber and Shipping Company vs. Great Lakes Paper Company, and the resulting political ramifications. There is a massive amount of promotional material from the former company, from community and political organizations and from the press.

Social Services

These folders deal with government departments' provincial policy towards local institutions, C.C.F. policy statements, correspondence with Robinson from constituents, and background material regarding social services in general.
