Projects

This series relates to child care projects and studies organized by the Northwestern Ontario Regional Child Care Committee. The series includes projects regarding coordinating community action, child care reform, child care funding, future directions and Northwestern Ontario issues and advocacy.

Forums

This series consists of records of the Child Care Forum events of the Northwestern Ontario Regional Child Care Committee. Forums offered advocates, staff and partner organizations a time to meet, share, strategize and learn together. Forums required extensive planning, funding and co-ordination to organize and informed lobbying efforts.

Surveys

This series consists of child care surveys done by the Northwestern Ontario Regional Child Care Committee. Surveys gave provision to child care centres and staff to share information about their community, name of centre, survey respondents, and centre's programs. Surveys provided information about the fees, licencing, subsidies, operating budget/deficit, capital budget, and operating grants. Statistics for staffing/wages/qualifications; overview of benefits, recruitment, and pay equity; and operations, program/policy changes shared important information for advocacy for the future plans, and concerns for child care centres across Northwestern Ontario.

Partner Organizations

This series consists of records related to partner organizations of the Northwestern Ontario Regional Child Care Committee, including the Lakehead Social Planning Council, Northwestern Ontario Women's Decade Council, and Thunder Bay Advocates for Quality Child Care.
