Saronic or United Empire

Black & white photograph of the steamship Saronic. Formerly known as The United Empire, or "Old Betsy," it was converted from a propeller-powered passenger and freighter boat into a steamship in 1905 as part of a restoration effort, and subsequently renamed the Saronic. Destroyed in 1915 after a fire. The United Empire was featured on the $4 bill.
